We had an engaging meeting with Mr. Effendy Wong, chairman of Hipilindo, association of fisheries farmers and owner of the Sondoro Seafood restaurant. We discussed the export of the intention of the Minister to export lobster seeds, that could disastrous for the lobster farmers.
Discussing future collaboration with the rector of University Brawijaya, Prof. Dr. Ir. Nuhfil Hanani AR., MS and Mr. Irham Budiman, S.Pi, M.Si, Chairman of IFSI, followed by the signing of a Memorandum of understanding.
We visited the Institut Atsiri, the department of essential oils, at the University Brawijaya in Malang, where we met with Dr. Nia Kurniawan, Mrs. Serafinah Indriyani, both from University Brawijaya and Ms. Iiwati Lowis from PT Varia Niaga Nusantara.
Together with Bapak Mulyadi from Dompu, Ibu Yuliana and bapak Samson, we visited the island of Gili Nangguh, a resort in the West Lombok, to study the possibilities to establish an obesity clinic.
During our visit to Ekas in Lombok we learned about deep sea lobster and pearl farming. Learning about the activities of Mrs. Yuliana and Mr. Samson, CV. Tria Asteria Tirta Buana for deep sea mariculture and aqua tourism and community engagement for project as education, promoting fish for school children and stunting program. (video)
A visit to the horticultura greenhouses in Cigenang with Mr. Anwar Kurniawan, owner and Mr. Budiharjo Sutrisno, Directors, PT Anta Tirta Karisma. They produce the greenhouses themselves and have established their own irrigation system for various plants, herbs as well as fish ponds.
Lunch meeting regarding frog farming in Kalimantan and Malang at the Aryaduta Hotel (Jakarta), with Bapak Coco Kokarkin, Director for Seed, and Mr. Ahmad Jauhari Pamungkas, Head of Fresh Water Fisheries, Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries.
